3 Hyrox Tips
1 - Improve Your Sled Push Technique
Tip: Focus on your body position and technique during the sled push. Keep your back straight, engage your core, and drive through your heels to generate maximum power. Practice pushing the sled with different weights to build strength and endurance
Why It Matters: A strong sled push is crucial for maintaining momentum in the race. Proper technique minimizes fatigue and maximizes your efficiency during this key station
2 - Incorporate MORE Burpee Broad Jumps into Your Training
Tip: Regularly practice burpee broad jumps to build the explosive power needed for this station. Focus on landing softly to reduce impact and improve your overall agility. Gradually increase your repetitions as you build strength
Why It Matters: This exercise helps develop the explosive strength necessary for the broad jump, improving your performance during the race and preparing your body for similar functional movements
3 - Build Endurance with Long Runs
Tip: Incorporate a long run into your training plan to improve your aerobic capacity. Aim for at least one long run per week, gradually increasing the distance to build endurance and keep the pace and heart rate steady.
Why It Matters: Improved endurance allows you to maintain a higher steady pace throughout the race, particularly during the running segments between functional exercises
2 Lessons We Learnt This Week
1 - Accountability Drives Progress:
Being held accountable for your training is essential for staying on track. Whether it's a training buddy you run with, a group, a coach, or an online community, having someone check in on your progress keeps you motivated. Without accountability, it's easy to fall into the trap of making excuses (and we all know how creative we can get with those!). Consistent check-ins push you to show up and give your best effort.
2 - Patience is Power:
Results take time. Remember, slow progress is still progress. The key is consistency and focusing on the long-term goal. It’s easy to get discouraged when results aren’t immediate, but by staying committed and doing the work week after week, you’ll eventually see the progress you’re working toward. Trust the process, and results will follow.
1 Question For You
1 - Does your body listen to the mind or does your mind listen to your body?
